Stevenson College Edinburgh has been running a successful adult English Language Summer School programme for over 25 years. We welcome students from all over the world every year to study English for 2, 4, 6, or 8 weeks.
New courses available for Summer 2010!
The Summer School will run from 5 July - 27 August 2010, and is available to students aged 16 and above. Students will be able to choose between a core General English or Intensive English course. Students will also have the option of studying additional Academic English, Photography, or a full social programme. We have also included a mini-social programme for students taking Academic English or Photography as an option.
We regret that our Summer School programmes are not suitable for Beginners. We offer a number of alternative English Language programmes suitable for Beginners starting in September and January.
Social Programme
The social and mini social programme allows students the opportunity to take advantage of all that Edinburgh has to offer in the summer months. The summer is a very exciting time, and during August there are a number of festivals including the International Edinburgh Festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
Facilities
We offer excellent facilities and services to all students in addition to small classes (maximum 14 students per class), headed by well-qualified, experienced and friendly teachers.
Students have access to free internet and email at the College as well as computer-based language learning resources. Students can relax in the College cafeteria during breaks, or browse the 1000s of books, magazines and journals available in the library.
Accommodation
Many students choose to stay with a homestay host as this provides an excellent chance to practise your English. Students can choose between half board and self catering. Apply for homestay accommodation on the Application form when you book onto your course.
The College does not have student residences, although the Accommodation Team can provide you with contact details for local residences.
