As parents of international students you are likely to have many questions about the course and the College. If you can not find the answers you are looking for below, please contact the International Centre with your enquiry.
Q: What is the ranking of the College?
A: Colleges in the UK are not ranked in league tables as Universities are. However, Stevenson College Edinburgh is a public college, largely funded by the UK Government and therefore subject to regular inspections to ensure high standards of teaching are adhered to.
Q: What courses do you offer?
A: Stevenson provides many qualifications which are pathways to University. Students can study on a 1 year Foundation programme or for a 2 year HND, both of which are accepted by UK universities for entrance onto a degree. Many of the qualifications offered are certified by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
Q: How much will it cost?
A: You will need to consider 2 costs – tuition fees and living costs. Please visit the Fees section for exact fees. You will be required to show maintenance funds of £600 per month of studying to cover living costs. Students need to demonstrate funds to cover total costs when they apply for a visa. Please refer to the UKBA for full details.
Q: Where do students live?
A: The College Accommodation Service will help students to find accommodation, usually in a homestay where breakfast and dinner are provided. Living with a local family helps students to practise their English and learn about British and Scottish culture.
Q: What support will the College provide?
A: We have an International Centre who offer help and advice to all international students both before and during their studies. An airport pick up service is provided when students first arrive and an induction programme in week 1 helps to ensure that students settle into life in Edinburgh quickly.
Q: Do you have local representatives?
A: The College works with a number of representatives throughout the world, who can help with your application to the College. It is also possible to apply directly. For a list of our local representatives, please visit the country pages . Staff from the College regularly visit countries overseas and would be happy to meet with you during a visit.
