NQs - National Qualifications

National Qualifications is the name given to the block of qualifications from Access 1 up to and including Higher National Diploma (HND) level (courses beyond this are awarded by universities.)

National Qualifications are designed to provide a broader range of qualifications beyond Standard Grade. This allows you to demonstrate your ability at whatever level suits you best, while the clear progression routes allow you to move easily on to the next stage and achieve your full potential.

National Qualification courses are made up of units called National Units. The level of the particular unit is given in the Qualification Type section in each course description.
