First Certificate in Music

This course is suitable for anyone who plays a musical instrument and has a desire to develop their skills and work with other musicians. You will study a wide range of units taken from the core subject areas of music. The units have been selected to allow a degree of flexibility while encouraging individual strengths.

Areas of study include: Performance, Theory, Composition, Listening Skills. You can join a band, be a member of the College Choir or take part in a musical theatre production.

Entry Requirements

3 Standard Grades at Grade 4 or above or, for mature students, a proven interest in the subject. Candidates should have some performing experience. You will be invited to audition.
