This course is for students who want to improve their use of English for entry to university or further study, or to register as a doctor or nurse in this country. The Academic English course develops reading, writing, listening, speaking and independent study skills in an academic context and includes preparation for the IELTS test. Students taking this course should have firm plans to enter higher education in the UK.

This course is taught over 18 hours a week and includes taught classes, directed self-study and personal tutorial time. The maximum class size is 18.

Entry Requirements

Minimum entry is IELTS 5.5.

What can I do Next?

Gain your IELTS certificate at an approved centre then progress to university/further study or gain medical registration.
