The Faculty of Science, Sport and Engineering offers a wide range of courses at different levels from NQ to HNC/D and SVQs to help you move into employment or higher education.
Motor Vehicle and Electrical Engineering
Our students in the Motor Vehicle and Electrical Engineering departments are in great demand throughout the industry with 96% successfully gaining employment at the end of their course.
If you are already in employment, we offer a number of vocational qualifications and a range of Day/Block Release and Evening courses to enable you to work while you study. We also offer the Level 2 City & Guilds VRQ Certificate in Automotive Maintenance and Repair.
Science, Health and Safety
Within the Science department we offer a wide range of qualifications from NQ to Advanced Highers and University Access courses to help you move forward and reach your career aspirations.
Our highly qualified Health and Safety staff have vast experience in delivering NEBOSH and IOSH accredited courses in both the private and public sector from SMEs to large corporations.
Sport, Leisure and Exercise

The Sport, Leisure and Exercise Science department is widely acknowledged as one of the best providers of fitness based and sports coaching courses in the East of Scotland. We have strong links with employers and universities offering students progression to employment and higher education. We also offer the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Level 3 Personal Trainer course. For more information about this course please see our NASM Personal Trainer page.
In January 2011, Stevenson opened a brand new purpose-built centre for sport and exercise which has enabled us to provide first-class sport and exercise facilities on-site.
