Social Care HNC

This is a generic course in Social Care at Level 7 which is designed to support students to develop person-centred practice in a range of settings. Students must complete a total of 12 credits to achieve their HNC in Social Care.

 

The Units studied include 8 academic Units:

  • Psychology for Social Care Practice
  • Sociology for Social Care Practice
  • Social Care Theory for Practice
  • Social Policy and its Application to Social Services Provision
  • Protection of Individuals from Possible Harm and Abuse
  • Personal Development Planning
  • The Graded Unit

 

And 4 credits from SVQ Level 3:

  • Promote Effective Communication for and about Individuals
  • Promote, Monitor and Maintain Health, Safety and Security in the Working Environment
  • Reflect on and Develop your Practice
  • Promote Choice, Well-being and Protection of Individuals

The HNC in Social Care is the qualification now required by many employers in the Social Care sector.
