Degree Foundation Computing - NEW
This new course provides a comprehensive and focused year of study designed to give you the computing experience and qualifications necessary to apply to higher education courses in Games Development and related subjects. The course combines a study of Higher Computing, Intermediate 2 or Higher Maths and SQA Units.
With this course, you will complete a National Progression Award (NPA) in Computer Games Development, which will allow you to:
- Research the Games Industry, genres, trends and emerging technologies
- Plan and design digital games
- Create media assets and games content
- Test and evaluate computer games
On successful completion, students can progress onto HND Computer Games Development, or other computing discipline, or to Degree level courses at University.
HNC/D Interactive Media
This course aims to equip students with the necessary skills to follow a career within the interactive media field, offering a balance of academic and vocational training. You will have the opportunity to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to progress on to a web development or interactive media creation course.
You will develop a wide range of skills in industry standard software programmes such as CSS, XML, SQL and Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as developing a digital portfolio to showcase your skills for the professsional market.
