The Faculty of Access and Continuing Education has a range of access and progression routes to meet the needs of a variety of learners. Many of the courses are designed for mature adults who do not have any formal qualifications, but are interested in preparing to return to work or re-entering education, whilst others are perfect for school leavers looking for a stepping stone into further education or employment.
Access and Continuing Education also offers courses for students with additional support needs, who want to develop their educational and work skills and build their confidence. A range of part-time and full-time programmes are available both in the College and in the community for students with additional support needs.
Changes to Highers and Intermediates Programme for 2012/13

From Session 2012/13 Stevenson College Edinburgh will no longer run a full-time Highers programme. Some Highers, Advanced Highers and Intermediates will be available on a part-time basis and there will also be a few subjects offered as evening classes.
For the full list of subjects available, please refer to our 2012/13 Highers and Intermediates Guide.
Stevenson College Edinburgh offers a range of full-time National Certificate (NC/NQ) programmes which provide entry to the next level, such as HNC courses. Some of these NC/NQ programmes include two Intermediates or two Highers as part of some of the course.
For applicants who have been away from education for a number of years, there are Access Courses that may be the best option.
For people ready to study at Higher National Certificate level we offer an HNC in Social Sciences and HNC in Working With Communities which is now also available part-time.
