Robotics and Control System Engineering will give you the broad practical skills base you’ll need in programming robotic systems and computer aided control. You’ll develop the skills and knowledge necessary for programming software development and control with practical applications working on a range of engineering systems including software development within an engineering project and more.
The course supports progression into other Engineering disciplines as well as computing studies training or employment. This provides the basis for candidates to gain an insight into the supporting technologies of robotics with further study they could progress into careers such as software development, digital security and/or forensics. Further occupations such as mechanical, automotive, aeronautical, marine may also use your studies.
This award is available in short full time (18 week) and will be delivered across the Midlothian and Milton road campuses. Successful completion will allow progression onto a full-time course session 2017-18.

How Course Is Assessed:
Number of Days per week:
- Although there are no formal qualifications required a minimum 2 passes at SCQF Level 4 preferred
- An interest in Robotics and computer control systems is required
English Proficiency Requirements:
- Progression onto one of our Level 5 or 6 Engineering courses
- Computing with Digital Media Level 5 or 6 or NC Technical support (Level 6)
- Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering
