The College offers a wide range of placements which vary in length and subject area.
Length of Placements
The duration of the placement will be agreed between the College, the placement provider and the student. There are a number of factors such as the student's timetable and purpose of placement which need to be considered in the process. We also recognise the need to fit with your business needs and aim to agree a placement which will suit everyone.
For some students a placement is a mandatory part of their course and they must gain a fixed number of days / hours in the workplace. For example, students can gain credits through a module 'HN Work Experience' if they spend 5 to 10 days in the workplace. These placements are often offered on a full-time basis for a short period, e.g. 5 days a week for 2 weeks. Other mandatory placements require attendance once a week for the duration of the student's course.
We have students going out on placement throughout the year and will work with you to determine what type of placement will fit best with your business needs.
