The European Training Opportunties Project has been developed for students in Initial Vocational Education. Students studying photography and tourism at HND level and German language at HN level will take part in a two week training placement in educational institutions in Paris, France and Berlin, Germany. It is hoped through some development, this project will enable Stevenson to offer prospective students the opportunity to complete part of their course abroad, selecting their destination from a variety of choices.
Undertaking a training placement within a European context opens up new life and career directions for students, making them more attractive to potential employers who recognise the added value gained from injecting a European dimension to vocational training. Students also benefit personally by being exposed to other cultures and being introduced to the concept of Citizenship, making students aware of opportunities within the European Labour Market.
