Three International photography students reaped the rewards of generous scholarships from the Development Trust to help them on their way to becoming professional photographers.
Efthymios Stamatiadis, Paloma Fernandez and Iga Gozdowska each received £1000 scholarships to help them hone their craft and achieve HND/BA qualifications at the college. These scholarships were crucial to giving them more time to dedicate to their studies in their second and final years of the course, and to fund vital supplies for their varied, high-quality photography projects.
Paloma used her scholarship to support the development of her fashion photography portfolio. Paloma focused on producing five fashion editorials, as she wanted to use the funds to achieve a more diverse portfolio.
The scholarship helped Paloma to use a variety of different shooting locations in Scotland and Spain, buy props and hire photographic equipment.
All of Paloma's editorial shoots have been published in fashion magazines, giving Paloma the opportunity to present her work to the fashion community.
One of Paloma's photographs earned her third place in the advertising and fashion category at the prestigious British Institute of Professional Photographers student awards.
Paloma said: "My plans for the future are to finish the BA at Edinburgh College and after that go to London to establish myself as a fashion photographer. Without support from the Edinburgh College Development Trust this would not have been possible."
