Student scholarships are provided from time to time when a business provides a scholarship to a student to support their time at college along with work experience, mentoring and/or shadowing opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to get real-life experience as well as a grant to help them during their time at college.
The following scholarships are currently available or will be available very soon.
Electric vehicle scholarship open for applications from students
Students interested in working with electric vehicles can apply for a scholarship offered by the Edinburgh College Development Trust, the independent charity that supports students at Edinburgh College.
The electric vehicle scholarship will enable students to develop their knowledge and practical skills in the growing sustainable vehicle engineering field.
The successful student will work with the college’s electric vehicle fleet manager Bob Murphy one day a week in term time from February until the end of the academic year in June. They will continue their college course alongside their scholarship. The student will receive a one-off payment of £750, which has been donated by Midlothian Nissan dealer Alex F Noble & Son, suppliers of part of the green fleet.
This opportunity gives students who are interested in a potential career in electric vehicles some real-life work experience to add to their CV. Whilst primarily aimed at engineering and automotive students, any student who feels that they fit the criteria is encouraged to apply.
Interested students can view the full job description and download the application form below. The application form should be completed and returned by 5 pm on Tuesday 16 January
